Gabriella Giandelli | biography
Gabriella Giandelli was born in Milan in 1963. She published her first comics in 1984 and soon established herself as one of the most important comic book artists in Europe. Her children’s serial character “Milo”, featured in numerous volumes published in Italy by Mondadori, has recently been adapted for television in Italy and France. She has worked as a designer for Alchimia, Memphis, Alessi, and Swatch. Her illustrations have appeared in major national dailies in Italy such as La Repubblica, Il manifesto, Il Sole 24 Ore, and the magazines Marie Claire (Italy), Vanity Fair (Italy) and Internazionale.
Her work has appeared as cover art for volumes published by Feltrinelli, Einaudi, Mondadori, in Italy; Seuil in France, and Bloomsbury Berlin. In America, her illustrations have appeared in the New Yorker, Flair, Urban, Courrier International; she is currently collaborating with Le Monde (France). Her single and collective exhibitions include shows in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and America. She lives and works in Milan.
